To share your “My Documents” folder on a network

1) Goto Start>My Documents>Right Click>Properties>Sharing Tab>Click “I know the risks about sharing this folder link”>Click “Share this folder on the network” box>Rename the shared documents foder if desired

2) Start>Control Panel>System>Computer Name>Click “Change” button>Rename your computer name (Something easy for someone to type, like first name/nick name)>Click “OK”>Reboot your computer for changes to take efffect

3) To browse a computer on the network after changes have been made after that reboot, simply goto Start>Run> Type \\ and then the computer ID to follow (No spaces) then

This shortcut makes browsing folders in people’s computers on a LAN, especially easy – without the need of having to burn off files onto CD’s/DVD’s/Jumpdrives
